My Review Score
9.2/10
It was an incredible ride from beginning to end. And the best part about it is the inclusion of characters from the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels. It was fantastic is see Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan in live-action form. For me, it is the number 1 reason why I like this season of The Mandalorian. The action was incredible even though I did not like Boba Fett’s first fight sequence. It suffered from I have a gun but I am going to run up and punch you instead. I am ecstatic to see more creatures, more animals from different worlds, like the Loth Cat, the giant big-headed spider, and the tall elephants. Listen I don’t know the name of all of them, so I am going by the description. The new characters were all fascinating. And the world-building is incredible, we get to see what happens after The Last Jedi and how the Empire rise again. Especially since the Sequel didn’t do a great job in explaining the world and how Palpatine is back. I am not a big sequel fan, meaning Episode 7-9. Individually there are all fine films, Episode 8 The Last Jedi is the best one. However, as a trilogy it is ass. Anyways, The Mandalorian season 2 is epic and is deserving of a full rewatch beginning from Season 1.
My favorite moments were Ahsoka hunting down her foes and fighting against the magistrate. The sit down with Bill Burr and his former commanding officer. The spider chase scene with Mando and the frog lady. And finally, the Luke Skywalker scene. We finally see a modern-day Jedi Knight fight. Fast lightsaber action and incredible force ability. That crush he did to the dark trooper was beautiful, the way he uses the force in his combat amazing. Upsetting that it was not Ezra or Cal but I can not complain about the Luke Scene at all.
My favorite episode was The Jedi, Episode 5, Chapter 13. Even though I do not agree with the episode name. Because you see Ahsoka is not a Jedi, she left the order and went down her own path. And during that path, she meets two Jedi Kennan and Ezra from Rebels. And currently, she is on a quest to find Ezra who is with Thrawn. Thrawn was a name mentioned during Ahsoka’s interrogation of the magistrate. Why is this important, well at the end of Rebels, Ezra along with his hyperspace whales took Thrawn and his ship away from Ezra’s homeworld. We have no clue where Ezra is or whether he is alive. I just want more Rebels and an actual conclusion to these characters from the animated series.
The after credits showed that we will be following a new/old Mandalorian. The original Mandalorian, Boba Fett will return for Season 3: The Book of Boba in December 2021. I hope we get to see more of Mando, the boi Pedro Pascal, in season 3. I also do not know what to expect from season 3 since I thought Mando was going to help Bo-Katan reclaim Mandalore or help Ahsoka find Ezra, another Jedi. But, the end of season 2 wraps Grogu’s and Mando’s storyline very well, and am content with their conclusion. There are still questions that have not been solved like Mando having the rightful claim to the Dark Saber and Bo-Katan wants it. This is weird because she has done it before accepted the Dark Saber without combat in Rebels. So it was strange to see her hesitate like girl you’ve already done this before with Sabine. By the way, where is Sabine!?!?! She is another Mandalorian from Rebels who went looking for Ezra, so as of now no clue where she is. Maybe the whole Rebels stuff will be answered in the Ahsoka tv series because The Mandalorian Season 3 seems like it will follow Boba being a crime lord in Tatooine like Jabba did. Also, are we ever going to see Mandalore? Is Din going back to bounty hunting? What does he do now? Farm? A man with his talent, there’s no way. Also also, what happened to Grogu when Luke’s temple was destroyed by Kylo Ren. What did they need Grogu’s blood for? You know what I am not content with Din’s and Grogu’s conclusion. There are questions still needing to be answered. And now we gotta be focusing on Boba, what? Listen I am happy that people are happy that Boba Fett is back but to me he is so overrated. Oh well, all we can do is wait until Season 3 premieres.
